Associate Therapist Full-Time Position

Pay: $35/clinical and supervision hours + $20/Admin hour | Full-time (25 hrs/week)
Are you a compassionate, motivated pre-licensed therapist ready to gain exceptional clinical experience in a supportive team setting? At Sonoma County Counseling, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of therapists with advanced training, personal support, and a deep-rooted dedication to culturally competent, trauma-informed care.
We are currently seeking Associate Therapists (AMFT, ASW, APCC) to join our thriving group practice. In this post-graduate internship role, you’ll provide outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, individuals, and families facing mental health challenges, including complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to grow in your clinical expertise through hands-on training, high-quality supervision, and exposure to a diverse caseload.
✨ Position Highlights:
Evidence-Based Trainings
PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) – PCIT International approved
EMDR – 50 hours, EMDRIA approved
Couples Therapy
Play Therapy
Supervision: Weekly individual, triadic, and/or group supervision – BBS approved
Private Practice Skills: Learn how to build and manage your own practice
Personal office space during work hours

🧠 What You’ll Do:
Provide ethical, high-quality psychotherapy to clients using evidence-based practices
Conduct clinical assessments and create individualized treatment plans
Coordinate care with families, schools, medical providers, and community resources
Intervene in crises, assess for suicide risk, and respond with appropriate supports
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with HIPAA and legal standards
Participate in team meetings, consultations, and ongoing professional development
Manage a consistent caseload of 5–7 clients per day (adjusted for part-time schedules)
✅ Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
Registered with the California BBS as an AMFT, ASW, or APCC
Passion for trauma-informed, client-centered care
Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community mental health
Reliable, organized, and eager to learn in a collaborative environment
