Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much will therapy cost? (copy)
Therapy is a financial and time commitment to better yourself and overall well being. When considering cost, and important question to ask yourself is can you afford to wait to give yourself or your child the help that they need? We can help in a variety of ways. We accept credit/debit cards and Health Savings Account cards, check, and cash. We can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance to process an out of network mental health claim. Fees for services vary, based on therapist, time slot, type of therapy, levels of expertise and experience, etc. Typical fees range from $175 - $150 per therapeutic hour.
  • What do I do before my first session in person? What if I am meeting my therapist for the first time over telehealth?
Please plan on arriving for your first appointment 15 minutes early and remember to write down our door code. This will allow you to locate Sonoma County Counseling, arrive in the waiting room, fill out the necessary Questionnaire if you did not do it before, and gather your thoughts. If needed, water and restrooms are on site. For telehealth, please make sure you have a secure internet connection, are in a comfortable and private space, and have your therapist's zoom ID. Remember, this is time that you have set aside for you and/or your family. You deserve to be as relaxed and ready as possible.
  • What services do you offer?
We offer in person and telehealth therapy services to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. We have therapists trained in EMDR and PCIT therapy specialty treatments. With our multiple therapists on staff, we have someone who can connect with you to meet your therapeutic needs!
  • Do you accept insurance? (copy)
All of our therapists accept MEDI-CAL PARTNERSHIP HEALTH PLAN. Some of our licensed therapists accept ANTHEM BLUE CROSS, AETNA, and UNITED HEALTH. Verification of insurance is checked for eligibility before your first session.
